Important note, if you forgot your password, and you have not signed into AVD before, you will need to reach out to a Vista administrator to have them assist you. This setup requires you to know your password.
- First, install the AVD client from https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=2139369 This is a new remote desktop program for signing into Vista, and it's required to initialize your new login. Note, once you set up this login, you don't have to use this app to get into Vista, if you have Vista installed on your computer. To install, click the link above, locate the newly downloaded installer, and double click it to run. Follow the installer instructions.
- Next, open the newly installed AVD client. It should open up to a screen with a big blue "Subscribe" button. Press this button. Alternatively, if you already have connections listed, hit the three ellipses located at the top right of the app, and hit Subscribe.
- After that, it will ask you to sign in. If you already have a Microsoft account, ignore the option to login using that account, and instead select Use another account.
- After clicking, it will request that you enter an email. This email will typically follow the following format: firstinitial.lastname.companycode@viewpoint.cloud If this does not work, contact your Vista Administrator
- After entering the viewpoint.cloud email address, hit next.
- It will then request a password. This password will be the same as your current Vista password. If you are resetting your password because it was forgotten, you will need to contact an administrator to have them reset it for you. Enter your password, and hit Sign in
- If sign in was successful, you will see a screen pop up saying "More information required". Hit Next
- On the next screen, it will ask you to download the Microsoft authenticator app. This is for two factor authentication. Feel free to use whatever authenticator app you prefer, by hitting the alternate option in the bottom left corner. Or install Microsoft authenticator and hit Next
- Set up your authenticator account login, and hit Next again
- On the next screen, a QR code will appear. Hit the "+" sign in the top right of your Microsoft authenticator, choose for work or for school then scan the QR code on your screen, and hit Next.
- A number will appear on your computer screen, and your authenticator app will ask you to type the number in, After you press submit, your authenticator setup will be complete. Hit Next, followed by Done
- That concludes account setup. You can now select the application you wish to run
Resetting your password
- You can now reset your password at https://passwordreset.microsoftonline.com/ using the same email set up in the steps above (firstinitial.lastname.companycode@viewpoint.cloud) and hit Next
- Enter the code currently being generate by your authenticator app, or send a push notification to your authenticator app and approve it.
